I usually like coming to Mini Tx Pharmacy. The staff is mostly polite and efficient. I can tell they have to fulfill several roles within the store, and their jobs are not easy. I am sympathetic to people in customer service and retail roles, and I do not expect them to bend over backward for customers. Unfortunately, I had an unpleasant experience today with one of the staff. I told the photo employee my last name, and he picked two orders with that name. He told me, “I don’t know which one is yours,” and started taking the photos out from each folder to show me. Luckily both of the photos happened to belong to me, but this would have been a huge invasion of privacy if they were not. Then without explaining why, he only gave me one photo order and took the other one away. After I told him I wanted both, he explained that there is a limit of one order per household. I was unaware of this policy. It would have been better customer service and less confusing if he had clarified why he was refusing to give me the other photo instead of just taking it away.
Someone should call you to tell you that your prescription is finished. One time it took my prescription two days to be completed. The last time I had a prescription filled, it was called in at 2:00, and I came to pick it up around 7:30, and it wasn’t done. I walked around the store until 9, waiting for it to be done. I walked to the counter three times to check on it.
The staff is very professional yet friendly. There was an issue with my prescription. The pharmacist wasted no time and got it resolved by coordinating with the MD. I was offered a free same-day delivery due to a slight delay. Highly recommended.
To give the best example of how adaptive and diverse the staff is here, I brought them a prescription for our HEDGEHOG. And they were able to compound the medication and called hospital and confirmed they had it right. Thanks, UIC Outpatient Care Center Pharmacy, our hedgehog had another five weeks of life with us. So they literally can take care of the whole family!
Great location with very friendly staff. I only went in for the COVID-19 vaccine, but it was super smooth. Fast check-in, barely any wait for the actual shot, and the med staff friendly and knowledgeable. The rest of the store is quite nice as well although I didn’t do any shopping.

My prescription comes in a form that I prefer to the alternative covered by my insurance, and at a cost that was equivalent to my out-of-pocket, it was a win-win. I can’t say it was a very impressive visit, staring from parking where people park senselessly blocking two spaces with one vehicle despite there being big parking. Inside it’s well-stocked, but any local store or small pharmacy would beat on pricing.
I have used this pharmacy twice now and actually hadn’t known about them until recently. I really appreciated the professionalism and caring I received over the phone when speaking to any one of the staff. They prepared my prescription without issues and even brought it out to my car.
